India Gold Prices Rise 0.84% Nationwide
Gold prices in India rose for a third consecutive session on Friday, extending Thursday's sharp rebound. The price of gold increased by about 0.84% nationwide, with Chennai's 18K gold jumping sharply.
The current price of gold in India is ₹15,666 per gram for 24 karat gold and ₹14,360 per gram for 22 karat gold. On a per-10-gram basis, that works out to ₹1,56,660 for 24K and ₹1,43,600 for 22K gold.
The rise in gold prices is attributed to continued safe-haven buying in global spot gold prices, with the Iran-US standoff still unresolved. The US dollar's mildly softer tone also lent some support.
