India Gold Prices Surge Amid Rising Tensions in West Asia
The price of gold in India has seen an increase on August 8, 2026. According to Good Returns, 24 carat gold is priced at Rs 15,235 per gram, up from Rs 15,126 yesterday. The prices for 22 and 18 carat gold are also higher, at Rs 13,965 and Rs 11,426 respectively.
The price hike can be attributed to global events such as rising tensions in West Asia, which have led to instability in energy markets. As a result, investors are turning to gold as a safe-haven asset.
City-wise rates also show an increase, with the highest prices observed in Vadodara and Ahmedabad at Rs 15,245 and Rs 13,975 respectively for 24 carat and 22 carat gold. In contrast, prices in cities like Chennai and Mumbai remain steady at Rs 15,164 and Rs 13,900.
