India Guarantees 100% Fuel Supply Amid Global Disruptions
The Indian government has assured a 100% supply of domestic LPG, PNG for households, and CNG for transport across the country. Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Sujata Sharma stated that domestic LPG supply remains stable, with no dry-outs reported at any distributorship.
Sharma also noted that the government is restoring commercial LPG and PNG supplies up to 70%, prioritizing hospitals and educational institutions. Additionally, the supply of five-kilogram free-trade LPG cylinders for migrant labor has been doubled.
The Ministry of Textiles is monitoring the West Asia situation closely, with Trade Advisor Bipin Menon stating that shipping disruptions and logistics are being addressed. Exporters have been advised to use alternate routes and ports like Jeddah, where fuel and gas supplies remain stable at about 80% of average consumption.
