India Lifts Export Ban on Wheat with Immediate Effect

The Indian government has lifted its export ban on wheat and its products, effective immediately.

This decision comes after the government allowed limited shipments of wheat in February. The export policy for wheat has been revised from 'prohibited' to 'free', allowing exports of wheat flour and other products like maida and semolina.

The notifications issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade stated that the export policy is revised with immediate effect, giving a boost to exporters.
