India Petrol Diesel Price Hike: Rs 3 Increase Amid Global Energy Surges

Oil companies in India have increased petrol and diesel prices by Rs 3 per litre each. This decision comes as global energy prices surge. In New Delhi, petrol price has risen from Rs 94.77 to Rs 97.77 per litre, while diesel prices have increased from Rs 87.67 to Rs 90.67 per litre.

Similarly, in Mumbai, petrol price will now cost Rs 106.68 per litre, and diesel price has been hiked to Rs 93.14 per litre. In Kolkata, the petrol price has been increased to Rs 108.74 per litre, while the diesel price will now be Rs 95.13 per litre.

In Chennai, the petrol price has been raised to Rs 103.77 per litre and diesel price has been increased to Rs 95.35 per litre. Additionally, Indraprastha Gas Limited has increased the prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) by Rs 2 today. The new rate for 1 kilogram of CNG in Delhi is Rs 79.09, and Rs 87.70 in Ghaziabad and Noida.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that India has limited the increase to just plus 3.2 percent for petrol and plus 3.4 percent for diesel, compared to other countries which witnessed hikes ranging from 20 percent to nearly 100 percent.
