India Silver Price Surges 8.35% in Single Day to Rs 2,550
Silver prices in India surged by a staggering 8.35% on August 12, 2026, reaching Rs 2,550 per 10 gram. This marks a significant increase from its previous rate of Rs 217.29 per gram on August 3, with the price rising to Rs 255 per gram today.
The sharp acceleration in silver's price is attributed to its dual character, which combines safe-haven and industrial demand. Unlike gold, which is driven mainly by monetary demand, silver's use in solar panels, electronics, and electrical applications makes it more volatile and prone to sharp swings when investment demand and industrial demand converge.
The current rate of Rs 2,550 per 10 gram is broadly uniform across states, with some variation. Rates are higher in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Odisha at Rs 2,600 per 10 gram, while Jammu and Kashmir stands at Rs 2,551 per 10 gram.
The price of silver has been steadily climbing since August 3, with a rise of about 17% in ten days. However, the sharp acceleration seen today is notable, and its volatility makes it essential to monitor whether this trend continues or reverses in the sessions ahead.
