India Slams Houthi Attacks on Saudi Oil Installations

India has condemned the recent attacks on Saudi oil installations by the Houthi militant group. The strikes, which targeted civilian and economic facilities, have raised concerns about regional security and stability in West Asia.

The Iran-backed Houthi group carried out the attacks on Tuesday, sparking widespread apprehensions about further escalation in the conflict. India's External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal expressed his country's opposition to the strikes, calling them 'unacceptable'.

Jaiswal noted that such attacks undermine regional security and stability, and threaten freedom of navigation in the Bab-el-Mandeb. The US has recently ramped up economic sanctions against Iran, which could be a contributing factor to the escalating tensions.
