India Supplies Fuel to Mauritius Amid West Asia Conflict
India and Mauritius have signed a long-term supply arrangement for petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. The deal was announced by Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Hardeep Puri during his visit to Mauritius. This agreement is aimed at strengthening the island nation's energy security amidst disruptions caused by the West Asia conflict.
The sales and purchase agreement covers refined petroleum products including petrol, diesel, and aviation fuel. The two countries have not disclosed the volumes involved or other commercial and financial terms. Puri stated that Mauritius was the first country outside South Asia to conclude such an agreement with an Indian public-sector oil company.
