India Supplies Record Gasoline to Russia Amid Ukrainian Attacks

India has emerged as a crucial supplier of gasoline to Russia due to Ukrainian drone attacks on Russian refineries, which have disrupted domestic fuel production. According to energy analytics firm Vortexa, Russia's seaborne gasoline imports surged to a record 125,000 barrels per day in August, equivalent to 470,000 tonnes for the month.

This surge was triggered by repeated attacks on Russian refineries, with 32 attacks carried out during July and August. As a result, Russia has been forced to import petroleum products, including gasoline, to meet its fuel demands.

India's purchases of Russian crude oil have also hit a record high, with over 2.6 million barrels per day imported in June and July. This represents more than half of India's total crude imports during this period.

The fuel exported to Russia may have been made from Russian crude, as Indian refiners supplied up to 1 million barrels of gasoline to the country in the last two months.
