India Targets 600 mmcfd LNG Import Boost by 2030

The Indian government has announced plans to increase LNG imports by 600 million cubic feet per day (mmcfd) within two years.

A new floating terminal in Maheshkhali is expected to start supplying gas by December 2028, contributing significantly to the country's energy needs.

The move aims to address India's growing demand for natural gas and reduce reliance on other fuels. LNG imports have been rising steadily in recent years, driven by increasing demand from industries such as power generation and fertilizers.
