India Unlocks $1.5 Billion Wheat Export Window Amid Global Market Shifts

India's record wheat harvest is set to unlock over $1.5 billion in export opportunities, thanks to recent policy shifts and liberalisation of export rules.

The ASSOCHAM report said that India has shifted specified wheat varieties, wheat flour, and related products from 'Prohibited' to 'Free', expanding market access for Indian producers and processors while supporting export earnings.

India's strong demand prospects in countries like Egypt, Indonesia, Bangladesh, Algeria, and the Philippines are driven by competitive pricing, geographic proximity, and comfortable supply position.

The global wheat market is experiencing changes due to weather disruptions, geopolitical tensions, higher freight costs, and fluctuations in production and prices.
