Indian automotive suppliers are exploring alternative technologies to mitigate supply chain challenges and rising raw material prices. Spark Minda, an Indian auto supplier, is working on magnetless solutions and copper-aluminium alternatives to reduce dependence on rare earth materials.

Suresh D, CEO of Spark Minda Technical Centre, stated that the industry is developing technology-led alternatives to address supply-chain challenges. Magnetless technologies are being developed in India as a unique solution to the country's needs.

The company is also exploring copper-aluminium solutions to reduce reliance on copper, which has seen price increases. However, Suresh noted that such alternatives may not completely offset higher input costs.
