Indian Construction Costs Soar 25% Amid West Asia War
The construction cost in India's real estate sector has risen by 25% since the West Asia war began in February, according to Parveen Jain, President of NAREDCO. The increase in input costs is due to rising raw material prices over the past six months.
Copper prices have surged by 60% during this period, and even if the conflict ends soon, it will take another three months for supplies to normalize. This has led to increased construction costs for developers like Jain's Tulip Group.
Jain also stated that residential property prices are unlikely to rise further because upward revisions have already been reflected in current market values. The high land value, which has increased by 10 times in five years, makes it difficult for developers to adjust prices downwards or upwards.
