Indian Equity Benchmarks Surge Amid Global Gains
The Indian equity benchmarks opened higher on Thursday, tracking gains across Asian markets and easing global bond yields. The BSE Sensex rallied over 500 points to trade at 77,393.81, while the NSE Nifty50 climbed close to 150 points to cross 24,200.
Crude oil prices remained a key market concern, with Brent futures rising for a fifth consecutive session. Brent crude's October futures were quoted at $92.08 per barrel, up 0.53 per cent on the Intercontinental Exchange.
The positive close of US equities in the previous session provided some support to Asian markets, although investors continued to monitor developments in the US and global economy.
