Indian Equity Market Extends Recovery Amid Elevated Crude Oil Prices
Indian equity benchmarks opened higher for a second straight session on Friday, extending their recovery from recent losses despite elevated crude oil prices.
The Sensex jumped 163.35 points or 0.21 per cent to 77,701.07, while the Nifty rose 52.20 points or 0.22 per cent higher at 24,284.05.
The gains were led by realty, metal, and pharmaceutical stocks, with the Nifty Realty index rising 0.7 per cent, followed by Nifty Metal at 0.48 per cent and Nifty Pharma at 0.32 per cent.
However, analysts cautioned that the previous session's rally may struggle to sustain amid rising crude prices and higher US bond yields, which could weigh on large-cap stocks and trigger profit booking.
