Indian Equity Market Opens Flat Amid Rising Oil Prices
The Indian equity market opened flat on Wednesday as crude oil prices surged to $92 per barrel. The Sensex and Nifty indices started the day down by 0.02% and 0.01% respectively.
The ongoing weakness in the market is attributed to rising crude oil prices and higher bond yields globally, according to analysts. They cited uncertainty over the Middle East conflict as a key factor driving up crude prices, which has led to concerns over inflation and upward pressure on bond yields.
However, despite the challenging global economic environment, Indian market fundamentals remain strong. Analysts point to improving GDP and earnings growth prospects for FY27 and robust domestic liquidity as reasons for the market's resilience.
