Indian Equity Markets Open Flat Amid Crude Oil Price Surge
The Indian equity markets opened flat on August 11 after a surge in crude oil prices. Despite this, certain sectors such as information technology and consumer durables showed gains.
Nifty Private Bank fell by 0.64 per cent and Nifty PSU Bank declined by 0.62 per cent due to weakness in banking stocks.
Market experts pointed out that rising crude oil prices were a concern for the market, but improving domestic fundamentals, better-than-expected June-quarter earnings, and stability in the rupee provided support.
