Indian Gold and Silver Prices Dip Amid Global Interest Rate Reassessments
Gold and silver prices in India's domestic market dipped slightly on Tuesday morning as global traders reassessed interest rate expectations and energy-driven inflation signals. The local spot market saw gold settle near ₹1,44,320 per 10 grams, down around ₹170 from the previous session's peak, while silver held around ₹2,22,800 per kilogram.
Ramesh Jain, a wholesale trader operating out of Chandni Chowk's Kucha Mahajani, said retail buyers are being cautious due to gold prices sitting above ₹1.4 lakh for ten grams. 'When gold is sitting above ₹1.4 lakh for ten grams, people prefer to wait for two consecutive red sessions before making heavy commitments.'
Market analysts expect precious metals to remain range-bound through the week, with safe-haven interest providing a solid floor even as short-term profit-booking triggers minor corrections.
