Indian Gold and Silver Prices Soar on Weakening US Dollar
The precious metals market has seen a significant surge in prices on August 6. According to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the price of 24-carat gold increased by ₹2,735, reaching a rate of ₹1.48 lakh for 10 grams.
Silver prices also rose, with 1 kilogram becoming costlier by ₹931, pushing the price to ₹2.25 lakh per kg.
The rally has been particularly sharp in August, with gold becoming ₹5,501 more expensive and silver surging by ₹7,198 per kilogram over the first six days of the month.
Market experts attribute the rise to the weakening US dollar, which makes these metals cheaper for foreign buyers and increases international demand.
