Indian Gold Demand Surges as Global Prices Remain Stable
Gold prices in Delhi surged by ₹2,000 as local retailers and stockists bought up supplies amid strong investment demand. Globally, gold and silver prices were relatively stable, with gold hovering around $4,392 per ounce.
The price stability was largely due to softer US Federal Reserve rate expectations and ongoing central bank buying, particularly from China. This kept gold supported despite some profit-taking by investors waiting for clues about future US interest rates.
Meanwhile, silver felt pressure from firm US Treasury yields and profit-taking as investors waited on the sidelines for further developments.
