Indian Gold Prices Bounce Back with Mixed Movement
Gold prices in India moved in mixed directions on Tuesday morning, with 24-karat and 22-karat gold edging higher even as 18-karat gold eased in most cities. The national rate for gold stands at ₹1,56,930 per 10 grams for 24-karat gold (99.9% purity), ₹1,43,850 per 10 grams for 22-karat gold (91.6% purity), and ₹1,17,700 per 10 grams for 18-karat gold (75% purity).
Dealers attributed the uptick in 24-karat and 22-karat gold to renewed safe-haven buying in global spot prices, as fresh Iran-US tensions and a spike in crude oil supported demand. Traders said the divergence in 18-karat gold likely reflects local market conventions around jewellery-grade pricing rather than any shift in the underlying bullion trend.
The mixed movement across purities suggests the market remains cautious rather than decisively trending in either direction, according to market watchers. The move marks a gain of ₹160 for 24K gold and ₹150 for 22K gold per 10 grams over Monday's closing levels of ₹1,56,770 and ₹1,43,700, respectively.
