Indian Gold Prices Continue Upward Trend Amid Global Economic Uncertainty
Gold prices in India continued their upward trend on August 1, buoyed by steady overseas bullion rates and demand for safe-haven assets.
The retail gold rates saw a slight bump in most major cities, while silver prices remained relatively flat. In the domestic market, investors are keeping an eye on global economic signals and central bank policy hints that could influence precious metal prices in the coming weeks.
As per bullion market updates, financial experts still view gold as an attractive long-term option for portfolio diversification and as a safety net against inflation. However, buyers planning to purchase jewelry are advised to compare prices between jewelers due to varying making charges and local taxes that can significantly impact the final bill.
The MCX gold futures opened at Rs 1,43,575 per 10 grams on August 1, up from the previous close of Rs 1,43,106. At its highest point during the session, gold traded at Rs 1,44,230, an increase of about 0.8 percent.
Silver futures also saw gains, with the white metal rising as much as 1.26 percent to touch an intraday high of Rs 2,24,955 per kg. At the last count, it was trading at Rs 2,24,844, up Rs 2,706 or 1.22 percent.
