Indian Gold Prices Fall Amid Stronger US Jobs Data
Gold prices in India's retail market fell on Monday, September 7, while silver prices held steady at elevated levels. The benchmark retail rate listed gold at ₹1,52,256 per 10 grams and 999 fine silver at ₹2,36,638 per kg.
The MCX gold futures market also traded lower, down 0.28% at ₹1,52,910 per 10 grams, while MCX silver futures were down around 0.14% at ₹2,36,840 per kg.
International gold prices declined after stronger US jobs data reinforced expectations that interest rates could remain higher for longer. Market participants are awaiting key US inflation data due later in the week to provide further clues about the Federal Reserve's monetary policy direction.
