Gold prices in India continued their upward trend on August 21, 2026, with 24-carat gold rising above ₹1.57 lakh per 10 grams. According to data from GoodReturns cited by The Indian Express, 24K gold was priced at approximately ₹15,928 per gram, translating to around ₹1,59,280 per 10 grams.

The recent rally in gold prices has been supported by global market developments, including lower US Treasury yields and a softer US dollar. A weaker dollar makes the metal relatively cheaper for buyers using other currencies, which can support international demand.

Houston, however, saw the highest price at ₹1,60,480 per 10 grams for 24K gold, while other major markets such as Delhi, Mumbai, and Bengaluru were closer to ₹1.59 lakh per 10 grams. The prices are indicative market rates and do not account for making charges, GST, and jeweller-specific premiums.
