Indian Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Global Market Volatility
Gold prices in India remained relatively stable on August 18, despite global bullion experiencing a slight decline. The price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹15,567 per gram, or ₹1,55,670 for 10 grams. In contrast, the US Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting minutes are being closely watched by investors, as they await fresh interest-rate signals.
The move in Indian retail rates was minimal, with all three purity levels rising by just ₹1 per gram from the revised Monday price shown by the tracker. Global markets were softer, with COMEX gold futures falling 0.51% to $4,450.80 an ounce and silver declining 1.32% to $65.36 an ounce.
The domestic MCX spot gold price had closed the previous Friday session at ₹1,53,608 per 10 grams. In the international market, the LBMA PM fixing for spot gold stood at $4,405.80 an ounce on August 17.
