Indian Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Global Pressures
Gold prices in India remained stable on September 1st, 2026, at elevated levels. The benchmark price for 24-karat gold opened at ₹15,676 per gram. This is a standard market rate that reflects global macroeconomic pressures and geopolitical uncertainties.
Domestic bullion prices continue to be influenced by central bank buying and investors' preference for gold as a hedge against inflationary risks. Minor regional price variances exist due to local transportation tariffs and state-level taxation structures.
The prices of 22-karat and 18-karat gold were ₹14,369 per gram and ₹11,757 per gram respectively. Silver prices also remained firm due to industrial demand and retail buying.
India's national silver rate stood at ₹254.90 per gram, equating to ₹2,54,900 per kilogram. Southern markets quoted a slight premium of ₹2,59,900 per kilogram due to increased freight costs and localized demand dynamics.
