Indian Gold Prices Hold Steady Amid Global Volatility
Gold prices in India remained steady on September 6, following a sharp fall in the previous session. The 24K gold price held at ₹1,54,800 per 10 grams, while 22K gold was priced at ₹1,41,900 and 18K gold at ₹1,16,100 per 10 grams.
The rates remained unchanged from Saturday as domestic bullion markets were closed for the weekend. The gold market has been sensitive to US Federal Reserve rate expectations, crude oil prices, the US dollar, and geopolitical developments.
Despite the volatility in the first week of September, gold prices remained broadly unchanged on Sunday, with a sharp correction of up to ₹1,900 per 10 grams on Saturday. The MCX is closed on Sundays, and the next session will provide the next official domestic futures price movement.
Gold buyers are advised to check the latest rates before purchasing, as prices can move once markets reopen. They should also compare different types of gold, such as 24K, 22K, and 18K, and factor in making charges and GST when calculating the final cost.
