Indian Gold Prices Jump Amid Sustained Demand
Gold prices jumped on Monday in India due to sustained demand, according to recent data from the Multi Commodity Exchange. The yellow metal contracts for October delivery rose by Rs 455 or 0.3% to trade at Rs 1,52,275 per 10 grams.
Fresh positions built up by participants led to a rise in precious metal prices, analysts said. Globally, gold futures declined 0.16% to USD 4,334.53 per ounce in New York.
Silver also rose on the MCX, increasing by Rs 2,514 or 1.09% to trade at Rs 2,33,980 per kilogram for September delivery. In the overseas market, silver futures increased 0.41% to USD 63.81 per ounce.
