Indian Gold Prices Lag Despite West Asia Tensions

Gold prices in India have been under pressure despite escalating tensions in West Asia. Domestic gold prices closed at Rs 1,49,650 per 10 grams on April 4, nearly 17% below their record high. This is a significant drop from the peak, where prices had reached.

The global market saw higher prices at the end of the week, but this did not translate to Indian markets. A stronger US dollar and rising crude oil prices have capped gains in gold, keeping the market volatile. Despite increasing demand for the precious metal, these factors are holding back price increases.
