Gold prices plummeted by Rs 800 to Rs 1,56,200 per 10 grams in New Delhi on Friday due to profit-booking and weak global cues. The decline marks the second consecutive session of a fall for gold.

The previous day's price was Rs 1,57,000 per 10 grams, according to local traders. In contrast, silver remained unchanged at Rs 2,40,000 per kilogram.

'Gold pulled back on Friday amid weaker global cues,' said Saumil Gandhi, Senior Analyst - Commodities at HDFC Securities. 'The yellow metal edged lower despite softer-than-expected US producer-price data.'

International markets also saw spot gold trading marginally lower to $4,351.01 per ounce while silver rose 0.33 percent to $64.68 per ounce.
