Indian Gold Prices Reach ₹1.52 Lakh Amid Geopolitical Tensions
Gold futures on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) surged to ₹1.52 lakh per 10 grams on August 10, 2026, driven by strong domestic demand and geopolitical tensions.
The October delivery futures increased by ₹455, settling at ₹1,52,275 per 10 grams as traders took positions based on sustained physical demand within the Indian market.
Notably, this rise in domestic prices diverges from global trends, where international gold futures saw a slight decline to trade near $4,330 per ounce due to profit-taking after recent gains.
The divergence is attributed to regional factors supporting Indian gold prices, including geopolitical instability near the Strait of Hormuz and strong physical spot demand in India.
