Indian Gold Prices Remain Steady Near Elevated Levels
Gold prices in India remained steady on August 26, 2026, hovering near elevated levels. The retail price for 24-karat gold stood at INR 1,63,740 per 10 grams, while 22-karat gold traded at INR 1,50,090 per 10 grams.
The prices varied marginally across different metropolitan areas due to local transport costs, state taxes, and jeweller association pricing. Delhi saw a slight increase in prices, with 24K gold trading at INR 1,63,890 per 10 grams.
Bullion analysts noted that gold prices have exhibited an upward trend over the course of August, driven by macroeconomic factors and steady retail interest. Consumers were advised to consider additional charges such as making charges, state-specific value-added taxes, and the standard 3% Goods and Services Tax (GST) when purchasing.
