Indian Gold Prices Rise Amid Global Decline
Gold prices in India rose on July 31, 2026. According to GoodReturns, 24-carat gold was priced at ₹14,460 per gram, up ₹27 from the previous day. This increase comes despite a global decline in gold prices due to investors taking profits and the US dollar regaining ground.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw gold futures trading lower on July 31, with 5 August expiry gold traded at ₹1,42,490 per 10 grams, down ₹742 or 0.52 percent. Silver futures also declined by ₹851 or 0.39 percent.
The rise in the US dollar strengthened gold and increased its price for investors outside the United States. However, the Federal Reserve's decision not to change interest rates has led to a decline in gold investment due to its non-interest-bearing nature.
