Indian Gold Prices Rise Amid Inflation and Currency Volatility
Gold prices in India rose on August 24, according to FXStreet's data. The price of gold stood at 14,267.46 Indian Rupees (INR) per gram, up from INR 14,160.54 it cost on Friday. This increase is reflected in the other measurement units as well, with the price for gold increasing to INR 166,411.60 per tola.
The calculations are based on international prices and are updated daily. FXStreet notes that local rates may diverge slightly from these calculated prices. The precious metal's value has historically been seen as a safe-haven asset and a hedge against inflation and currency depreciation.
