Indian Gold Prices Rise for Fifth Straight Session on Weaker Rupee
Gold prices in India continued their upward trend for the fifth consecutive session on Monday, reaching ₹1.56 lakh per 10 grams in the national capital.
The price increase is largely attributed to the depreciation of the rupee against the US dollar, making imported bullion more expensive for Indian buyers.
According to the All India Sarafa Association, gold of 99.9% purity settled at ₹1,54,000 per 10 grams in the previous session.
Silver prices also rose sharply, increasing by ₹5,200 per kg to ₹2,40,000 per kg, inclusive of taxes, from its previous level of ₹2,34,800 on Friday.
