Indian Gold Prices Soar 8.4%, Silver Surges Amid Global Demand
Gold prices in India continued their upward trend for the seventh consecutive session, jumping Rs 2,600 to Rs 1.59 lakh per 10 grams in New Delhi on Wednesday.
The rise was due to firm global demand and strong investment appetite, according to Gaurav Garg, Head of Research at Lemonn Markets Desk.
Gold prices have increased by Rs 12,400 or 8.4% from Rs 1,47,400 per 10 grams on August 3.
Silver also surged, rising Rs 4,000 to Rs 2,46,000 per kilogram from Rs 2,42,000 in the preceding session.
Analysts attributed gold's rally to US inflation data coming in as expected and persistent geopolitical tensions in West Asia supporting demand for precious metals.
