Gold prices have surged in India on August 12, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). The price of 24-carat gold has increased by ₹158 to reach ₹1.53 lakh per 10 grams.

This marks a significant increase in just 12 days, with gold becoming ₹10,000 costlier this month alone. Silver prices have also risen, reaching ₹2.35 lakh per kilogram after an increase of ₹46.

Compared to December 31, 2025, gold prices have increased by ₹20,000, while silver has risen by ₹5,000. This year's fluctuations in gold and silver prices have been significant, with the precious metals making all-time highs in January.

Commodity expert Ajay Kedia predicts that gold could reach ₹1.60 lakh by the end of the year, while silver may touch ₹2.80 lakh. Investors can also consider buying Gold ETFs or Silver ETFs as a low-cost investment option.
