Gold prices in India have seen a significant surge this month, reaching an all-time high of ₹1.63 lakh per 10 grams, according to the India Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA). This marks a rise of ₹1,983 from its previous price.

The rally is expected to continue, with experts predicting that gold will reach ₹1.70 lakh by December 2026. Anindya Banerjee, Senior VP & Head of Commodity Research at Kotak Securities, believes that strong institutional and retail demand are supporting the price surge. He notes that gold has the backing of both retail investors and global central banks, including the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), which continue to buy gold to secure their reserves.

Despite a marginal decline in silver prices, analysts project that it could touch ₹3 lakh by December 2026. Banerjee suggests that if global industrial demand improves, silver could see a massive catch-up rally.
