Indian Gold Prices Surge Amid US-Iran Tensions and Weaker Dollar
The price of gold in India rose by 0.52%, or ₹790, to around ₹1,54,080 per 10 grams on Tuesday, September 8.
This increase comes amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran, a weaker US dollar, and concerns over oil supply disruptions that have supported demand for gold as a safe-haven asset.
On the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures were trading around ₹1,53,727 per 10 grams, up 0.47%, at about 10:48 am on Tuesday.
The retail rates of gold vary slightly between cities and jewellers due to local taxes, premiums, and other charges.
