Indian Gold Prices Tumble Amid Middle East Turmoil
The current gold price in India stands at ₹15,202 per gram for 24-carat gold, ₹13,935 per gram for 22-carat gold, and ₹11,720 per gram for 18-carat gold, as reported by Good Returns. This marks a decrease of ₹207, ₹190, and ₹155 from the previous day's prices for 24-carat, 22-carat, and 18-carat gold respectively.
The fluctuations in gold prices are largely attributed to ongoing turmoil in the Middle East, which has caused investors to seek safe-haven assets like gold. The region's instability has led to increased tensions between Iran and the US, with missile strikes and retaliatory actions contributing to market volatility.
Domestic bullion markets have mirrored this global trend, with local gold prices shifting in line with international spot rates, import tariffs, and currency movements. As a result, investors are turning to gold as a means of diversifying their portfolios and mitigating potential losses.
