Gold and silver prices declined in India on September 4 due to a stronger rupee and anticipation of the US nonfarm payrolls report. According to CNBC TV18, gold fell by 0.28% to ₹1.55 lakh per 10 grams while silver dropped by 0.31% to ₹2.41 lakh per kg.

The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) saw gold futures for October delivery decline by ₹431 and silver futures for December delivery fall by ₹749. Despite the domestic price correction, international gold prices remained high at around $4,528.54 an ounce for the December contract.

Vedika Narvekar, Research Analyst - Commodities & Currencies at Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers, stated that expectations around US monetary policy had shifted following dovish comments from the Federal Reserve, supporting gold prices.
