Indian Gold, Silver Prices Soar as Demand Surges
Gold and silver prices have fluctuated over the past week, with both metals experiencing an increase in rates. According to the Indian Bullion and Jewellers Association (IBJA), the rate for 24-karat gold stood at ₹1,43,781 per 10 grams by Friday evening.
In the domestic market, 24-karat gold prices rose by ₹2,622 over the week, closing at ₹1,41,159 on July 17 and reaching ₹1,43,781 last Friday. This significant price movement is a reflection of the increasing demand for gold in India.
The Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) also saw an increase in gold prices, with the rate rising by ₹2,160 over five trading days. The price of 24-karat gold was ₹1,40,906 per 10 grams on July 17 and closed at ₹1,43,066 last Friday.
Silver prices have also seen a sharp rise in the domestic market, increasing by ₹7,247 per kilogram over the week. The rate for 1 kg of silver stood at ₹2,15,474 on July 17, while closing at ₹2,22,721 last Friday.
