Indian Markets Rally on Crude Price Decline and Easing Geopolitical Tensions
The Indian stock market saw a positive trend on Wednesday, with both Sensex and Nifty trading higher. The Sensex gained 96.98 points or 0.12 percent to reach 77,753.07 by 11:20 a.m., while the Nifty traded at 24,310.50, down 24.05 points or 0.099 percent.
The decline in crude oil prices was a key factor behind the market's rise. Brent crude, the global oil benchmark, fell 2.66 percent to USD 86.22 per barrel after Iran and Oman agreed on a joint temporary navigational corridor through the Strait of Hormuz.
Foreign fund inflows also supported the positive trend in domestic markets. Institutional flows remained supportive, with both foreign and domestic investors emerging as net buyers. Foreign institutional investors (FIIs) extended their buying streak to a second consecutive session, purchasing equities worth Rs 1,593 crore.
