Indian Markets Soar on Crude Price Drop Amid Easing Geopolitics
Stock markets in India began Tuesday, July 28, on a positive note, buoyed by lower crude oil prices and easing geopolitical tensions. The Sensex climbed 152.7 points to 76,988.48, while the Nifty rose 44.95 points to 24,040.90. Tech Mahindra, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, HCL Tech, Hindustan Unilever, and Eternal were among the major gainers.
The decline in crude oil prices was attributed to renewed talks with Iran, which eased concerns about potential supply disruptions. Brent crude traded 1.44% lower at $87.09 per barrel. Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) offloaded equities worth ₹1,688.23 crore on Monday, July 27.
Asian markets were mixed, with South Korea's KOSPI tanking 9.34%. Japan's Nikkei 225 index and Shanghai's SSE Composite index also traded lower.
