Indian Markets Surge as Oil Prices Plummet Amid Easing Tensions
Indian benchmark indices surged on Monday, tracking firm global cues after oil prices tumbled on hopes of easing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
The BSE Sensex opened 789 points higher at 78,883.34, while the NSE Nifty 50 started the session at 24,572.70, up 189 points.
Ahead of 9:25 am, the Sensex was trading 475 points, or 0.61%, higher at 78,569.54, while the Nifty gained 149 points, or 0.61%, to 24,532.55.
Broader markets also traded in the green, with the Nifty Midcap 100 rising 0.45% and the Nifty Smallcap 100 advancing 0.94%, indicating broad-based buying.
