Indian metal stocks suffered their third consecutive decline on September 15, with the Nifty Metal index plummeting by 2.27% to an intraday low of 12,715.55 points.

The sectoral benchmark declined for the third straight session due to a pullback in global commodity metal prices and elevated energy costs.

Investors focused on the massive selling pressure in the sector amid weakness in sentiment caused by high crude oil prices and recent drops in commodity metal prices.

Brent crude oil prices surged nearly 11% in the last five trading sessions, gaining over 22% in the last one-month period, while aluminum, zinc, and copper prices declined on Tuesday's market.
