Indian Silver Rates See Mixed Trend After Weekend
Silver rates in India saw a mixed trend on Tuesday after markets reopened from the weekend and Ganesh Chaturthi holiday. The national base rate remained unchanged at ₹245 per gram, ₹2,450 per 10 grams, and ₹2,45,000 per kilogram for seven of the ten cities tracked.
However, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kerala saw a ₹50 rise to ₹2,500 per 10 grams, re-establishing the premium these cities have periodically commanded over the rest of the country. This return to a two-tier structure suggests that the uniform pricing seen last week may have been a temporary alignment of local dealer premiums.
Silver prices in India largely follow international trends due to thin demand and supply. Global spot silver traded in a narrow range during the long weekend, with the modest divergence in Indian city rates likely reflecting local dealer adjustments rather than any fresh move in the underlying metal.
