Indian Stock Market Declines Amid Rising Crude Oil Prices and Geopolitical Tensions
The Indian stock market started on a downward trend on Monday, August 17, as crude oil prices continued to rise and geopolitical tensions persisted in West Asia.
The Sensex declined by 284.85 points to reach 77,717.05 during the initial trading session, while the Nifty dipped 69.25 points to 24,297.05.
The biggest laggards from the Sensex pack were Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services, HCL Tech, Tech Mahindra, Hindustan Unilever, and State Bank of India.
Bharat Electronics and Titan were the only winners among the Sensex constituents.
