Indian Stock Market Declines for Sixth Straight Session Amid Crude Price Surge
The Indian stock market declined on Tuesday, extending its losing streak to six consecutive sessions. The Nifty 50 fell 0.55% and the Sensex dropped 493 points.
Rising crude oil prices and renewed concerns over the US-Iran situation kept investors cautious amid fears of disruptions to global energy supplies.
The Nifty 50 opened at 24,223.85 and briefly rose to an intraday high of 24,269.65, but selling pressure persisted through most of the session.
Brent crude traded above USD 91 a barrel, rising 0.1% to USD 91.04 in early European trading.
