Indian Stock Market Slumps for Third Straight Day Amid Rising Tensions
The Indian stock market continued its downward trend for the third consecutive day on Wednesday, with the Sensex declining by nearly 374 points.
The benchmark index closed at 76,570.35, while the Nifty slipped to 23,914.45.
Asian Paints, HDFC Bank, Mahindra & Mahindra, HCL Tech, Bharat Electronics, and Infosys were among the major laggards in the Sensex firms.
Brent crude prices rose 0.40% to USD 95.13 per barrel due to escalating tensions in West Asia.
Ponmudi R, CEO of Enrich Money, attributed the market's decline to renewed US-Iran hostilities and higher global bond yields.
